In the Weaving Ties initiative, we have signed agreements and work in close collaboration with indigenous organizations and forest communities of a regional and with a broad territorial base, which make up the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities.
AMAN, is the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of Indonesia. It is present in 21 provinces of the 34 provinces of Indonesia, and groups 2323 indigenous communities. Their wing organizations are Perempuam AMAN (Indigenous Women’s Organization of Indonesia) and BPAN (Indigenous Youth Front of Indonesia). They estimate to represent 17 million Indonesians from Indonesia.
AMPB is the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests, which brings together 10 organizations with regional coverage in 6 countries of Central America and Mexico.
COICA is the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin, which groups indigenous organizations from the 9 countries of the Amazon Basin.
APIB, the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil, is the national reference for indigenous movements and represents approximately 900,000 indigenous people.
Work has also been done, through a signed agreement, with the Association of Mountain Peoples of the World (APMM), and incidentally with the Network of Indigenous Peoples and Communities for the Sustainable Management of Forests of the Congo Basin (REPALEAC).
